BALL LIFE

Ruby and Lisa

Ruby is my name and ball is my game!  A good game of catch is all I dream of and what I think about every minute of every day.

When I arrived in Florida I was afraid and alone.  Since I was a pup I’ve had four families.  They each said they loved me but I guess they decided I wasn’t really lovable after all.

I ended up with a new mom, dad and a big sister.  Mom and Dad are the ones who taught me all about ball!  I am very energetic and playing ball makes my body and my mind happy.  They decided ball was a great way to give me exercise and since they are kind of old they can play ball while sitting in a chair.  It works for me because I just love to run around!

I also have a big sister, Willow.  She and I are not quite sure if we like each other.  We love each other like sisters do, but we’re not sure our mom and dad can love us both.  Mom says they have hearts big enough for both of us, so I guess I should believe her.

I go to work with Mom every day.  It is a very quiet place.  My job at work is to take a long quiet nap.  Who can blame me when I snore with a roar or wake up thirsty and take a loud, sloppy drink from my water dish?  I am as quiet as I can be and she loves me even when I’m a little bit noisy.

I love plush babies too.  Just about any kind will do.  I take them from the toy bucket and bring them to my bed so I can watch over them the way my mom watches over me.

Mom and Dad say that I am very vocal.  I mumble, grumble, grunt and groan because I have so very much to say.  More than anything I want them to know I love them and I am glad they think I’m lovable because that means this is where I will stay.
